Bar Q BBQ Lounge
Having been conceptualized in the shadow of its sister location, the Connecticut-based barbecue restaurant Bobby Q's, Bar Q needed an online brand that could convey their focus on Nashville-meets-Kansas City fare and introduce the upscale barbecue concept to the Stamford, Connecticut market.
The AYC team met the challenge of a tight deadline for the already-popular BBQ restaurant family with enthusiasm, drawing cues from the cuisine to conceptualize a site that's clean, fresh and (by the grace of cool graphic design effects) "smokin' hot." Relying on traditional ideas of branding irons and charred beauty, we incorporated design elements from the Bar Q space (floor-to-ceiling plank wood, cowhide-clad walls) to bring their brand new spot online.
Flexibility was a key factor in the development of the Bar Q website; having worked with several newly established brands, the AYC team felt strongly about building in room for the brand to grow--both in terms of concept and content.
For the ever-important website functionality, our team employed an admin-controlled, custom-built content management system (a tried-and-true set up for establishments that need quick access to update content), adding in mobile-friendly slideshows, a rotating announcement and press coverage area, a private parties section and a fully integrated social media portfolio.
