The Tavern Downtown
The Tavern Downtown is Hartford's go-to spot for authentic pub fare; it's a place where the beer flows like wine and the good times roll on--even during the week. With an interior space that's warm, inviting and, by all accounts, what you probably picture when you hear "traditional tavern," Tavern Downtown wanted to bring their space onto the web using similarly traditional design elements. By employing rich color schemes, large photos of the tavern's familiar space and touches of wood texturing, our design team built a site that mirrors the laidback space, without impinging upon the functionality and highly intuitive nature of the site's build-out.
Because the nature of the site's content is so timely, the development team employed the use of a custom content management system for staff members to easily edit events, photos and menus. The extensive beer list is also a focal point of The Tavern Downtown, a consideration that we answered with a section in the CMS for staff to upload the newest PDF menu, resulting in a clean, simplified experience for the user.
