Morris Animal Refuge was founded in Philadelphia in 1874 and has since been dedicated to the adoption and care of animals, as well as educating the public on its mission. Morris is an open admission shelter, never turning away an animal, and has cared for hundreds of thousands of animals over the years.

Morris Animal Refuge

The previous website was not user friendly and difficult for the team to update. After moving the site to our custom CMS, the team has more control over the content and achieving their goals.  The three main pillars of the Morris website are to garner donations, facilitate adoptions and recruit new volunteers. On the new site there are clear calls to action for each of these sections.

The site’s uses bright colors, illustrations and fun photos to showcase what sets Morris apart from other shelters and bring their brand into the digital space. Morris strives to get away from the idea of shelters as sterile spaces and make their office spaces and website warm and inviting. Additionally, homepage tickers drive home how many animas they have saved and how many human lives have been touched.

New functionality including the Pet Wish List and online Fostering and Volunteer forms streamline the process for adoptions and volunteering, ultimately ensuring more pets get new homes. The Pet Wish List allows users to fill out a form and filter by categories such as pet type, breed and age. Once a pet that meets the criteria comes to Morris, the CMS will trigger an automatic email to the user.
