The Gang Gets Spooky

Published:10/28/2014

In what’s quickly becoming an annual tradition for AYC Media, the gang headed out to Eastern State Penitentiary last Wednesday to experience this year’s Terror Behind the Walls.

After some light appetizers (and a moderate dose of liquid courage) at Urban Saloon, the gang skipped a long line of suckers who didn’t get the fast pass and entered the almost-200-year-old prison, braving the undead guards and inmates as well as the spooky ghouls and ghosts who lurk…behind the walls.

Last year’s adventure happened to coincide with the hire of Back-End Developer Paul Bagosy, and this year’s outing occurred just after Back-End PHP Developer Anthony Meyer was brought on board (fresh from France), giving us time to get to know him (and his deepest fears) outside of the office.

In keeping with the spirit of Halloween, we decided to survey the rest of the office to find out what the AYC Media team is most afraid of. Please be responsible with this information, and do not use it to scare our team into submission!

Marc Scholtyssek: “Being cast in a JibJab video with my colleagues.”

Chris Lipczynski: “Since I’m not afraid of anything, my biggest fear would be to actually develop a fear.”

Jake Much: “Being trapped in a room with only programmers for 45 minutes. Ok, kidding about the programmers. It’s designers. Actually it’s trapped in a room with designers for 45 minutes.”

Terry Hahn: “Being sliced up on an operating table while being conscious but unable to notify anyone. Anesthesia Failure.”

Mike Leary: “Floating away in space.”

Jennifer Russel: “When Whole Foods runs out of my signature meat, pulled pork.”

Natasha Baglin: “Mayonnaise.”

Anthony Meyer: "Balloons. The last time I saw one pop I nearly fainted."

Brandon Miller: “Stranded in the ocean and surrounded by sharks.”

Molly Guyer: “Mine’s just sharks, period.”

Jacob Marcinek: “Like, running out of something, you know?”
