Inspiration comes to me all the time. Non-stop. It could be when the light hits something just right, or from weird dreams. However, motivation comes seldom. With photography, it is a lot easier for me to snap the picture exactly when the inspiration hits. But with illustration and design, a good majority of the time when I get ideas I add them to a long list in my notebook. I’ll carve out a weekday night, sit down with coffee, and draw for as long as I can. I mostly illustrate in a stipple style with black ink. I sometimes find time to make colored versions with a silkscreening process. I feel very accomplished when the piece is done and I get to move on to the next idea on my list.
