What are you looking forward to the most about joining the team here at AYC?
I am excited to be working with a group of people with such diverse talents and skills. From my few days in the office so far, it is clear that everyone is dedicated to the success and growth of AYC. I am looking forward to being a part of this growth and to bringing new designs and interactive campaigns to clients.
Describe a typical day for you in the office.
A day in the office for me still includes lots of learning and meetings with new team members.
What were you doing before you joined the team?
I graduated last year from Syracuse University with a degree in Industrial and Interaction Design. Through my time at Syracuse, I worked on designing a wide variety of products. To prototype and test these projects, I worked with a variety of rapid prototyping tools including 3D printing and CAD modeling. Focusing on how the users interact with my products is extremely important. After graduating, I spent much of the last year traveling the world. Exploring these new countries and cities has lead to inspirations in both my design and personal worlds. During this time I was also doing freelance design work and aerial videography.
Have any interesting hobbies?
I am always looking to learn new skills. Any time a new technology becomes available to the consumer, I am often one of the first adopters. Also water; water is my favorite hobby. Boating on it, swimming in it, skiing on it, drinking it. I love it all!
What’s your go-to music when you’re working?
Alternative, 90’s & early 2000’s hip hop, Reggae.
Tell us something unique about yourself, a fun fact that we don't know.
I can ride a unicycle, and juggle, but not at the same time…and yes, I know this is a very useless skills in the scheme of things.
Want to share with us a project you have worked on in the past that you are most proud of?
For my thesis project, I spent a year developing, and testing attachments for UAV’s (Drones). Specifically, designing devices for dropping live-saving supplies during search and rescue operations. This resulted in valuable technology that has the capability of changing the way the supplies are delivered in the field.
Have you seen any industry trends recently that inspired you?
Computer Learning and AI is something that I see already making revolutionary steps forward across almost all industries. Using computers to predict events, consumer behavior, and new products will surely become the norm. I fully believe that Computer Learning will make our lives more efficient, and enjoyable. The combination of a creative team and AI, will be key in leveraging this new tech.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
Two things come to mind. Travel while you can and make the people around you feel valued.
